So what is gender equality you ask? It is so many things. It is having equal opportunities for men and women; it is respecting the other regardless of gender; it is the ability to go to work in a safe and enabling environment with no fear of harassment or discrimination, where both men and women can reach their full potential. Gender equality is equal opportunities for promotion, for personal and professional advancement, and the freedom to pursue such opportunities. It also means working hard to achieve all the above. But from whence does gender equality begin and or end? How often does this question get asked? And in our quest to serve, seek, justify or demand equality
