It’s always a great day when I am able to meet with Cambodia’s young people, and this is exactly what I was able to do on Wednesday, when I had the pleasure of inaugurating the U.S. Embassy’s newest EducationUSA Advising Center at Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC).
My overarching goal during my time in Cambodia is to make the relationship between our two countries more effective, and an important way to accomplish this goal is through education. I strongly believe that a solid education contributes to a nation’s economic prosperity. Since U.S. colleges and universities are among the best in the world, attending one of these institutions can play an important role in developing skills and knowledge that contribute to Cambodia’s development.

The EducationUSA Advising Center has a wealth of information about U.S. educational institutions and how to enroll in these schools. The Advising Center can assist students with navigating the application process, choosing potential areas of research, and even identifying possible financing. Students can learn about scholarships and the international student opportunities that best fit their needs. In a nutshell, it is a one-stop shop for anyone who is interested in learning more about studying in the United States. And best of all, it’s completely free of charge!

I would like to thank Dr. Kol Pheng, President of PUC, for hosting the special ceremony to open the Advising Center. It was my pleasure attending the event and meeting so many university students. The Embassy greatly appreciates its long partnership with PUC, first with our American Corner located there and now with the Advising Center.
EducationUSA is a sign of America’s commitment to Cambodia, particularly the youth, by working to expand educational opportunities. I would like to encourage anyone who is interested in studying in the United States to visit the EducationUSA Advising Center at PUC and actively pursue your dream – we would love to have you!
