June 14th was Global Economic Statecraft Day, and in order to celebrate the United States’ and Cambodia’s economic partnership and friendship, I visited the Push-Pull Cambodia’s weaving center in Takeo Province. Global Economic Statecraft Day is a global event we are holding to emphasize America’s commitment to putting economics at the center of our foreign policy and to use diplomacy to advance America’s economic renewal.
I thought I would share some photos of my trip with you!

Weaving
Push-Pull Cambodia is an American owned company that has a strong commitment to community-development, fair trade, and social responsibility. In addition to a fair wage, the company provides its 46 employees financial management training and access to health care.

Working the Loom
I enjoyed meeting with the Push-Pull team, and learning about the beautiful products they make.

Chatting with a Push-Pull Employee
Push-Pull Cambodia is a wonderful example of how the U.S. and Cambodia can work together to achieve economic renewal and prosperity in a responsible way. I look forward to working with Cambodia to continue to increase our bilateral economic relationship.
Thanks for your suggestions on where I should visit in Cambodia. Keep them coming! Let’s talk more soon.

Dear Ambassador William E. Todd

Excellent article Ambassador! It is great to see such a successful company helping provide economic success in Cambodia!
you are very kind to all cambodian people. I think that what you are doing is very strange from all erstwhile US ambassadors in Cambodia so far.
I hope that you will do the best thing to strengthen the relations between the two nations.
I support you and I like the ways that you are doing now.
best,
Sam
Great! To see it happens in my province and I hope more projects will have to help my people.
