THE K PACKET

An approved fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa petition is only valid for four months from the date of its approval.  Consular officers may revalidate the petition several times.  Each revalidation is good for an additional four months.

The petition is routinely revalidated, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary’s admission into the United States.

However, if the officer is not convinced that the U.S. citizen petitioner intends to marry the beneficiary, including instances where no action has been taken on the application for a year (i.e., a visa interview for the applicant and submission of required documentation), the petition may be returned to the approving U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office.

I have a Fiance, which makes me wondering can I pay the fee(s) meaning post the fee(s) for her Visa and medical or is she the one that must pay fee(s) for Visa and anything else to make our commitment come to life.

Much needed clarification is needed, so I can explain the right things to her and we both understand how things must be conducted. Not looking for anything to be rejected for oversite or mis interpitation of information posted on website.

    Thank you ..

K nonimmigrant visa applicants must pay the visa application fee of $240 at any Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) branch, before they can request a visa appointment via the online appointment website or the Embassy’s Visa Call Center. For additional K1 visa payment instructions, you or the applicant may visit a link to our website at http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html.

The cost of the medical examination at St. Luke’s Extension Clinic is US$223.35, inclusive of immunization/vaccination fees. St. Luke’s does not accept credit card or dollar payments. The fee must be paid in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate. St. Luke’s is located at 1177 J. Bocobo Street, Ermita, Manila. We suggest that fiancee (K1) visa applicants wait until they are notified that we have received the U.S. Citizenship and Immgiration Services-approved visa petition from the National Visa Center before they schedule a visa interview appointment and complete the required medical examination.
