Hello! I got confused when filling up my mom’s DS-160. I mistakenly put her middle name first then surname on the “surnames” field (i.e. Conjuango Aquino). I’ve read that the middle name should be placed after the given name. Unfortunately, I’ve submitted the form already. How do I cancel it? Should I obtain a new DS-160 form? Thank you!
Maggie, you can edit the DS-160 by retrieving the application at the DS-160 website. To retrieve the application, you should enter the application ID number and answer a security question. In case you will be unable to edit the application, you must accomplish a new DS-150 for your mom. Thank you.
we are filling 3 consecutive forms already but still we found a lot of error how can we disregard it to us embassy and if we can fill a new DS-160?
Jordan, please carefully review your applications to make sure that all information is current and correct before submitting your DS-160. If you need to update the information in your applications, you can retrieve your previous applications at the DS-160 website . Choose “Retrieve An Application”. You will be asked to enter your Application ID and answer a security question. When you are done updating the application, submit the form electonically, print the DS-160 confirmation page and bring it to the interview together with all the other application requirements provided in our website. Thank you.
Hi. I already have a confirmation of my appointment for an interview but I did not put my middle name in the given name field. Please advise.
To avoid delay in the processing of your visa application, it is best to provide the required information in the DS-160 application. Applicant’s middle name should be provided after the first name. To update or edit your application, go to the DS-160 website, choose “Retrieve an Application”. After you have updated your application, please print the new DS-160 confirmation page and bring it to the interview together will all the other requirements provided in the Nonimmigrant Visas website.
I have already paid the MRV and have already an appointment schedule. Will i be able to add my middle name during the interview?
Van, the Embassy staff who will screen your documents on your appointment would add your middle name in your application. However, it is best if you can update/edit your application before your interview to avoid delay in the processing of your application. Thank you.
Hello, I’m filling up the DS-160 form, but i cann’t remember if i had ten printed when i was in US in 2008 or not, and i am stuck to the question should i answer it yes or no? can you help and advice please?
It is best to provide an accurate answer in the DS-160. The US Embassy in Manila started to require applicants ages 14-79 to give ten-print fingerscans in July 2007.
can I change my intended travel date even though I’ve already submitted it and already have my appointment?
Yes, KC. You can update the information in the DS-160 before your interview.
My friend have the same question with KC. Do I have to bring the new DS 160 confirmation or the old one? Do I need also to update my profile at my CEAC account? Her concern also is, having a new DS160 would not be a problem after having already an appointment confirmation?
Jason, if you have updated your application, then you need to bring the new DS160 confirmation page to your interview. Having a new DS160 should not affect your appointment confirmation. Thank you.
hello. when I filled the DS160, I was confused where I am going to write my middle name. I end up not placing it after my given name, as well with my father’s name. I, also, did not put my mother’s maiden name. I tried to retrieve my application but I cannot do it anymore. Can I make a new application? I have not yet paid the fee anyways.
TinTin, if you are unable to retrieve or edit your application, then you an accomplish a new DS-160 application. Thank you.
Hi, I have already paid my fee and I have my interview schedule next week. But I didn’t put my middle name, what should I do? I didn’t know that I was suppose to put my middle name.
What should I do? Thank you so much.
Matt, it is best to provide accurate and updated information in the DS-160 to avoid delay in the processing of your application. It is best that you update your DS-160. To retrieve your application, go to the DS-160 website and choose “retrieve application”. Then you can update your application. Hello! I’ve already submitted my DS-160 form and scheduled an interview, however, I have to update my employment history in the DS-160. I retrieved my application but I am no longer able to edit it. Does that mean that I have to fill up the form again? Also, I have a question regarding my name. My name has a ‘.’ (eg MA. LUISA). Do I have to fill up the ‘Full Name in Native Language’?
Paola, if you need to update your DS-160 you will need to start or create a new application. If you will create a new application, you will need to print a new DS-160 confirmaton page. With regard to your name, you don’t need to accomplish “Full Name in Native Language”. Thank you.
We have already submitted our DS-160 but has not set an interview date yet. Now we realized we cannot make it on the intended travel date as it was for Dec 2012. Do we need to create a new DS-160 to change the intended travel date to April 2013.
Julia, it is best to provide accurate informaton in the DS-160. You may submit a new DS-160 if there are changes in your travel dates. Thank you.
Hi,
I was filling DS-160 for my wife who is applying for J-2 visa. Just after submitting the form, I realized that I entered a wrong Program Number for her DS-2019 in the form. Should I create a new application, or should she tell the US embassy staff for the mistake. Because, in any case she will take the DS-2019 document with her for her visa interview.
Regards,
Bilal
It is best that you create a new DS-160 application and provide the correct program number before the interview. This would avoid delay in the processing of the application.Thank you.

Hi,
I filled the D160 form for visitor visa. i got the confiration page prnted as well as the form that i filled (for my records).
however, i lost the form that i had printed. Is there a way to reprint the form since i need to crosscheck all the information i filled prior to makeing the fee payment. The D160 does not allow me to reprint?
Please advice.

Mudasir
You may retrieve your application at the CEAC (DS-160) website with your application ID and by answering a security question. In case the system would now allow you to retrieve your application because you have already submitted it, then you may choose “create a new application”. You would see the information in your application. You may then print your application form.
Hi,
While filling DS 160 B1 visa form I had given only organization name for ‘point of contact’ and saved. But once I retrieved the form to update, I am not able enter both ‘Cotact person name’ and ‘organization name’ under U.S. Contact Information.
If I uncheck the ‘Do Not Apply’ for contact name , then contact name enabled but ‘organization name’ is getting disabled
How can I enter both contact person name and organization.
Thanks in advance
Applicants need only to provide the information that is asked in their DS-160 application. If the “organization name” is disabled in your form, it means you are not required to provide that information. Thank you.
I completed filling DS160 and print out confirmation; I also ask to send the confirmation to me by mail. But I forgot to print out my filled DS160.
My question is how I can get my filled DS160? as I see the request to bring hard copy DS160 to interview.
I am having ID of DS160, answer to security question, but get into https://ceac.state.gov/GENNIV there is button get application, fill up and answer the security question I can get 2 options: print out the confirmation or fill new application. the button print application is not active.
Please help me.
Thanks
Applicants need only to bring the DS-160 confirmation page to the interview. If you need a personal copy of your DS-160 application, you can retrieve your application at the CEAC website with you application ID and by answering a security question. Then choose “create a new application”. You will then be able to retrieve your previously accomplished application and print the form. i was filling up the tourist visa application. however, i am still confuse on two things. first, should i fill up the “FULL NAME IN NATIVE LANGUAGE”?? second, filipinos’ middle name is totally different from given name (as also written in our passports and birth cert.) however, as per your advise above, you have told that middle name should come after the given name. why is that so? please clarify and i thank you in advance.
Albert, you can choose “does not apply” in “FULL NAME IN NATIVE LANGUAGE”. The blog post provided the required format in completing applicant’s information in the DS-160. Middle name should be provided after the given name is the required format of the DS-160. Thank you.
Is it allowed to ask for a schedule for interview prior to completion and submission of DS 160. In my case I haven’t attached a photo yet. Thanks.
Flora, applicants are required to complete the DS-160 application before they can schedule the interview. Information on how to upload a photo to the DS-160 is provided in the DS-160 FAQ website. Thank you.
hi,we already submitted DS-160 and have our appointment date, i would like to ask if i need to update my daughter’s school info since she will graduate from her school ( the one she wrote on the submitted form ) and will enroll for college before our scheduled interview? pls clarify and thank you very much.
Cris, applicant’s information in the DS-160 should be current or up to date. Should you need to update the information in the DS-160, you can retrieve the application at the CEAC website using the Application ID and by answering a security question. Thank you.
had submitted DS160 form and received confirmation code for my daughter
and myself earlier and had mentioned the travel date as 20th March but was
not able to get interview appointment due to some personal reasons.
I am once again trying to take appointment but I am unsure if I can use the
same DS160 confirmation number or should I fill out a new one with a new
travel date.
Kindly let me know what steps I should I take now.
Thanks in advance.
Sundus
Applicants’ information in the DS-160 should be accurate. If you will change your intended date of travel in your DS-160 application, then you should use the confirmation number of your updated DS-160 when you schedule your interview. Should you have additional questions, you can call (02) 982-5555 and (02) 902-8930. The call center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, Manila time, except on U.S. and Philippine holidays. Thank you.
Hello! I was not aware of my grandmother’s name when I began filling up the DS 160 form so I entered “Change” to be able to proceed. Now I do not see an option to correct that. Each time I retrieve the application, I am prompted to enter her name. Is there a way to update it? Is there a problem if I leave it like that? Please advise. Thank you.
Applicant’s information in the DS-160 should be accurate. To retrieve your application, go to the CEAC website and enter you application ID and answer the security question. Then you should be able to access your application. If you are unable to retrieve and edit the application, you can accommplish a new application prior to your interview. Should you have further question, you can contact the call center at (02)982-5555 or (02) 902-8930, anytime from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Manila time. Thank you.
Hi! I mistakenly wrote a different birthplace on my DS-160 application form but i already have submitted it and i already have scheduled an interview. If I’m going to apply for a new DS-160, does that mean I have to reschedule my interview again?
Hi Louise. If you have submitted your DS 160 already, you may not edit it anymore. Although, you may create a new one, print it and present this instead of the one you submitted earlier. Creating a new DS 160 won’t affect your interview date.
hello,
today i submitted my DS-160 form and printed the confirmation. but i want to make sure that all the information that i inserted is right, so i am trying to retrieve my application but the web page tells me after entering the application number that the surname, date of birth, and the security question are wrong. However all of these information are right can someone please help me
Thank you
hi Melhem Masri. Once you submitted the DS 160, you cannot retrieve it again. However, you may create a new DS 160 if you think there are several items you need to correct. Nevertheless, the details you put will be checked and verified on your appointment date during the pre-screening part. But if the pre-screener finds your information with various mistakes, then we will be compelled to instruct you to make a DS 160 again and come back to the Embasys on a different day.
Hi! Just to confirm, I can update my DS 160 which I had previously submitted and have a new DS160 confirmation number without changing my appointment date? Thank you!
Hi Mike. If you have already submitted your DS 160, you cannot make anymore changes to it. You can only make a new DS 160 and get a new confirmation number/ letter. Yes, you do not need to change your appointment date.
My DS 160 was filled up by one of our company representatives. And after printing i noticed that there’s something wrong. He selected “NO” on immediate relatives in the u.s for which i have tons of relatives. Can i still edit it? Do i still need to print the confirmation page again? Can i still upload my photo? I think my company has already set my appointment date.
Hi Dennis. If you have already submitted your DS 160, you cannot edit it anymore. However, the “immediate relatives” information is very important, thus you need to provide it in your form. To do such, you need to fill out a new DS 160, then print a new confirmation letter. In your new DS 160, ensure to upload an appropriate photo that meets the standard requirements. You may do this without changing or affecting your appointment date.
