Nonimmigrant Visa fee increase (NIV)
The US Embassy Manila is now collecting new Nonimmigrant Visa application fees. Effective last April 13, 2012, the U.S. Department of State implemented an increase in the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee.
Applicants, who booked an appointment on or after July 13, 2012 and paid at the old rate, must now pay the differential fee corresponding to the visa class that he/she is applying for.
Applicants can pay the difference in fees at the U.S. Embassy cashier on the day of the interview.
Note: Applications will not be processed unless the full MRV fee has been paid.

New Bank Payment Process (NIV)
Effective last September 3, 2012, a printed payment slip is required in order to pay the Machine Readable (MRV) fee in the bank. The bank will not accept and process MRV fee without the payment slip.
Every payment slip has its expiration date and receipt number. Expired slips are not accepted by the bank. Applicants will not be able to schedule an appointment without the receipt number. Payment slips cannot be reproduced nor used for lump sum payment.

Hello. I paid a total of $380 for NIV. My problem is, I printed the receipt number twice. I decided to go on wih my interview and leave the application of my daughter because my VRP was near expiry. I already had my interview and was approved ( though I am still waiting for my passport to arrive). My daughter’s appointment is still on hold. I sent scanned copies of our receipt number to ustraveldocs.com but no feedback from them yet. what shall I do next? Need your reply ASAP. Thank you so much for this site.
Sandy, please send an email to the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit at ConsManilaNIV@state.gov with your and your daughter’s complete names, passport number, and scanned copy of the receipt. Thank you.
Correction: $320 instead of $380. Thank you.
I have been in Saudi or 1 year and im staying now in my country Philippines,do i need to get police clearance in Saudi for my petition of K1 visa?
Thank you for your interest in the VISAtisfied Voyager.
Fiance (e) K1 nonimmigrant visa applicants are required to present a police certificate from any place or places of residence for more than six (6) months since attaining the age of 16. However, according to country-specific information on police records found at the State Department’s web site at http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9727, police certificates are considered to be unavailable to applicants who no longer reside in Saudi Arabia and hence applicants are not expected to produce them.
Hi. I already submitted my DS-160 for B1/B2 visa application online and paid the fee through online banking. However, i made the wrong payment amount and underpaid by USD20 (paid USD140 instead of USD160). How do I settle the balance so I can schedule an interview?
Therese, you can contact the call center at (02)982-5555 or (02)902-8930 to inquire about payment of visa application fees. The call center is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, Manila time, except U.S. and Philippine holidays. You can also send an email to the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit at ConsManilaNIV@state.gov. When you inquire, you will need to provide your complete name, passport number, and payment details. Thank you..
hi,
i have my B2/tourist visa and visited US twice already. Last 2009 and last April 2012 I had a tour partly sponsored by our company. I got a 10 year multiple entry visa. My problem is I want my family (husband and 2 kids aging 4 yrs old and 2months) most esp my husband to experience travelling in US though weve been travelling already in Asia but this is his first time to travel in USA. Is there a chance that he will get approved as well as my 2 kids?
I want to bring my youngest son less than 1 year old so that my brother in US can see him also.
Hoping for your comments.
Thanks.
Cheley, one’s eligibility for a nonimmigrant visa will be determined by a consular officer at the time of interview. To qualify for the visa, your husband should be able to demonstrate sufficiently strong familial, social, professional and economic ties to a country outside the United States that would compel return after a temporary stay in the United States. Visa eligibility for younger applicants like your children may be based on the ties of their parents. Consular officers may also look at their educational status and long-range plans and prospects in the Philippines. Please visit the Nonimigrant Visas website for more information about nonimmigrant visas. Thank you.
