Eid Mubarak! US Embassy Temporarily Closed for Holidays August 20-21

On August 14, 2012, in General, by Visatisfied Voyager

The embassy will observe Eid il-Fitr from August 20 and Ninoy Aquino Day on August 21. American citizens with non-visa-related appointments will be contacted by our American Citizens Services section when we reopen. Visa applicants can reschedule appointments by visiting Embassy Manila’s Visa Information and Appointment Service online at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph or by calling (632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930.

The call center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Manila time), except on U.S. and Philippine holidays. You must have the case number, passport number, and passport expiry date for each applicant (principal applicant and derivative family members) ready when requesting a visa appointment.

Callers in the U.S. should call (214) 571-1600, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Thank you!

Ruel, we apologize if you did not receive a high quality of customer service. Please understand that the U.S. Embassy processes tens of thousands of immigrant visas every year. Consular officers work through cases as quickly as they can, but there are many cases under 221(g) status for which applicants are submitting documents. You will be contacted if any other documents are needed.

    Ruel,

I truly understand your the level of frustration and anxiousness, we are also waiting for documentation review under 221g of the US immigration act. We have been waiting longer than you have. I want to share the positive reception I always receive in talking to the staff members at the Immigrant section at the embassy. We call frequently to find out the result of our case. I am thankful to the staff for their help and understanding. They do what they can in order to help. Almost at the end of my call, I always apologize for being “makulit” and they always assure me that they too understand. I can almost picture the smile on their faces. Thank you to the staff for your time and attention.
