For the PepleThis week Frankfurt is holding its annual book fair. With a history that arguably dates back to the 15th century when Johannes Gutenberg first invented movable type not far from Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Book Fair remained the central book fair for Europe through the 17th Century. Today, it is considered the largest of its kind in the world with more than 7,300 exhibitors from 100 countries, 299,000 visitors and over 10,000 journalists in attendance.
The Frankfurt Book Fair 2011 began on October 12 and is open to the exhibitors and trade visitors throughout the week and to the general public on October 15 and 16 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.  For more information, visit the Frankfurt Book Fair website.
